The Outdoor Classroom is a widespread educational practice in some European countries. In the current health context and the beautiful days of September this teaching is ideal for young and old.
Its benefits have been demonstrated by various research studies.
The outdoor classroom improves children's self-esteem, concentration and attention, but also the well-being of teachers. This new teaching model allows kindergarten classes to learn differently.
For several months now, the public school "Les Gallo peints", also located in Maxent, has been regularly holding its outdoor classes at the Domaine des Hayes.
During a morning, the kindergarten pupils discover the outside world that surrounds them in the enchanted setting of Brocéliande. Between games, legends and Arthurian myths, the children develop their imagination through the forest of the domain.
The Domaine des Hayes is a privileged place to study, where children learn shapes according to the architecture of the buildings: the triangle with the Stables, the arc of a circle with the Lower Courtyard... It is also an opportunity to observe nature and the animals of the forest thanks to the exterior of the estate.
This method also allows young and old alike to observe nature in the grounds of the Domaine des Hayes.
This year, the school wanted to emphasize its training on eco-responsible driving with an awareness of the environment. This is why the school is integrating its close surroundings to motivate and anchor learning for the youngest.
The Domaine des Hayes is happy to welcome the teachers and pupils of this school in Maxent as we introduce them to the local environment of their small Breton village in the heart of the Brocéliande forest.
